Ms. Hary is a lifelong resident of Riverside and Mad River Township. Her love of books and librarianship comes from having four librarians in her immediate family! She has worked for Dayton Metro Library since 1988. Francesca enjoys classic literature, such as the works of Jane Austen.
The staff of the Burkhardt Branch boasts over 100 years of combined professional experience. There are six full time and six part-time staff members whose interests vary tremendously from home improvement to organic farming, from church service to crafting and genealogy. Everyone at the Burkhardt Branch is dedicated to providing their patrons with excellent customer service.
The Burkhardt Branch is truly a neighborhood Branch: the Children’s and Teen Librarians visit area schools in the Dayton and Mad River districts many times each year. The Branch is the home site of the Eastern Hills Neighborhood meetings, and the Branch participates in various church and school functions, including Harvest Festivals.
A new Burkhardt Branch Library was constructed across the street from the previous building, at the southeast corner of Burkhardt and Shedborne Avenues. The new facility opened April 25, 2022, construction of a new parking lot on the site of the old branch is scheduled to be completed in summer 2022.
