The Miami Township staff consists of nine librarians and LTAs and two library aides. The Branch staff specializes in reader’s advisory, children’s and teen literature, knitting, and instruction in eBooks and mobile devices. They are voracious readers and love discussing books with patrons. Materials are displayed so that patrons can quickly find something new to read.
The Miami Township staff have developed many partnerships to best deliver resources and programming to the residents. Government partners like the Miami Township Administration and the Miami Township Police help deliver valuable programming on safety. The Miami Township Branch is an active partner with the Dayton Mall Area Master Plan Oversight Committee, and many business partners aid with programming and provide resources to patrons. With a focus on education, the Branch is a proud member of the Miamisburg Kindergarten Coalition to help prepare children in the district for kindergarten.
The Miami Township Branch Library first opened in 2000 and was extensively renovated and expanded in the Libraries for a Smarter Future project, re-opening in November 2015. The playhouse-themed Children’s Area invites exploration and imagination, while the community room and study quads make collaboration convenient and efficient. This Branch gives special attention to Job Seekers each month with a networking and career-coaching program. An original installation by Dayton artist Stefan Chinov greets patrons as they enter.
